Acne Signs and Symptoms

Acne is a very common skin complaint, which not only affects teenagers but quite a few adults as well. It is caused when the too much sebum (oil) is produced and causes the pores on the skin to become blocked. Certainly if left untreated not only is it unsightly but also can if severe enough lead to scarring on a person’s skin. Below we take a look at the acne signs and symptoms.

In most cases the main area on which the acne is likely to appear is a person’s face. However, in some cases it can also appear on their neck, chest, back or shoulders also because these areas also have glands, which are able to produce sebum. But when it comes to identifying if you have acne or not you should be looking for the following.

1. In most cases the first sign of acne is when white head or black heads begin to erupt on the person’s skin. Known as Comedones by medical professionals these are produced at the hair follicle openings that will have become blocked because the body is secreting too much oil and this prevents dead skin cells from leaving the body. Also there is an increased risk that these can become infected as bacteria may well be prevented from being eliminated from the body also.

2. The next sign that a person may have acne is that spots have appeared on the skin’s surfaces, which are known as Papules. These will appear as small raised bumps on the skin’s surface and will be formed around the hair follicles. But unlike the Comedones these can become infected and inflamed and will often be red in color and are tender to touch.

3. The next form of acne that you may suffer from is similar in looks to the Papules but has a white tip to them (should not be mistaken for white heads). This white tip is made up of pus that contains bacteria that if allowed to come into contact with other areas of your skin can cause further eruptions of the acne. These particular spots are more commonly referred to as Pustules.

4. Nodules are much larger and solid lumps that are found beneath the surface of the skin and are very painful. These are actually caused because the oil has been able to build up deep inside the hair follicle.

5. The final form of acne that some people may well suffer from and which is the worse of all the symptoms is the Cysts. These just like the Nodules are large and painful but contain large amounts of pus (containing bacteria) as well. If left untreated then these can cause further permanent damage (scarring) to that person’s skin.

The biggest problem that one faces with regards to acne is that if left untreated and the spots are allowed to rupture they can lead to further outbreaks of the problem on other areas of their skin. It is therefore important that if you begin to notice that you have any of the acne signs and symptoms mentioned above you seek medical advice as soon as possible. You may find that there could be some other underlying medical problem that has caused you to suffer from this condition.

Kayaking is an increasingly popular adventure sport. Initially, kayaks were designed to accommodate only one person. Now, with the advent of tandem kayaks you can navigate through rapids, paddle beautiful oceans or glide across still lakes and through hidden waterways together in the same boat.

A tandem kayak is also referred to as a double obviously because it can accommodate two people. This style of kayak is perfect for beginners that are reluctant about going it alone on the water. Grab a buddy and travel together in a tandem kayak.

There aren’t any regulations about who can be in a tandem kayak. In fact, kayakers take children, parents, friends and even family pets in the tandem kayak. Probably the biggest question while kayaking in tandem is “Who sits where?” Seating arrangements are important for a smooth and easy trek.

The weight and the size of the individuals in your party need to be taken into account when deciding who sits where. Try to keep the weights in each kayak equivalent which means including the weight of the paddles themselves. And keep in mind the the heaviest weight needs to be in the rear of the kayak and the most experienced paddler should take a rear seat as well.

Every pair of boaters needs to work together as a team. If both of the riders is are paddling, the kayak makes very good speed across the water. Try to paddle in rhythm for maximum efficiency. Keeping a steady rhythm is the quickest kayaking method when paddles aren’t clashing.

Gout will usually only attack one joint at a time, which is just as well when you consider the intensity of gout pain. It is very common to get gout attacks in your big toe, this may be because we use our big toes to balance us when we walk. There are two different ways in which this drug can be taken. A person can either choose to take small amounts regularly each month or year. Whilst for others they have found that by taking a much large dose at one time in a very short period of time say several hours have found it to be effective.
